About The Position

The OPWDD Enrichment Programs Coordinator position is to facilitate programs that lead to a camp-like experience for children and adults ages 9 and up who have challenges related to their developmental disability. The programs will include an afterschool program that is run two days a week and an alternating weekend program that is on both Saturday and Sundays. We are looking for an upbeat, enthusiastic coordinator who can lead a staff, create an ongoing list of activities and implement them all while keeping our participants engaged and excited about participating in the programs. CARES (Community Assistance Resources and Extended Services, Inc.) is to assist children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and/or mental health conditions and their families, in particular, from under-served multilingual communities, access information, obtain resources and services.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with persons with developmental disabilities is a must, minimally 1 year.
  • Complete all trainings including safety protocols from the Agency prior to start.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and excitement to the participants, while also completing routine safety checks.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a camp director, program coordinator or recreational program is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure program continuity by communicating daily expectations and shifts to support staff, participants, families and management.
  • Manage program assets including keys, payment cards, devices, and access codes.
  • Coordinate transportation routes and assign staff tasks to support efficient work-site preparation and program operations.
  • Track enrollment, attendance, and program metrics across sites.
  • Develop programming, order supplies, communicate with facilitators and management.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
