About The Position
The Optometry Technician responsibilities include gathering medical records and patient information; taking ocular measurements, both anatomical and functional; administering or preparing medications; providing eye care and contact lens information to the patient; maintaining and cleaning ophthalmic instruments; assisting the ophthalmologist in basic procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent time management skills required
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work required
Nice To Haves
- Three years experience in healthcare or physician office setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Optometry Certification required or obtain within 18 months of hire
