About The Position

The Optometry Navigator's primary responsibility is to assist patients in meeting their insurance and clinical requirements to expedite their time to surgery. This includes obtaining proper documentation from primary physicians, ordering necessary labs, and securing prior authorizations from insurances. The goal of the Optometry Navigator is to increase surgery volumes by decreasing the time to surgery while maximizing patient satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Optometry Certification required or obtain within 18 months of hire
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Excellent time management skills required
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work required

Nice To Haves

  • Three years experience in healthcare or physician office setting preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
