About The Position

The MedServ Group is seeking an Optometrist to provide care to residents in Skilled Nursing Facilities. The role involves using clinical and interpersonal skills to deliver quality healthcare to elderly patients. The position is part time, with one visit monthly. Each visit typically includes 7–8 hours of patient visits plus paperwork and serves approximately 22–25 patients for preventative care. The usual schedule is Monday through Friday, typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexible schedules also available. Compensation is $40–$45 per patient or 35%–40% of collections, stated as approximately $1,050–$1,250 per visit.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree and active state license.
• Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics.
• Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams.
• Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease.
• Prescribe corrective lenses or eye medications as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients.
