About The Position

This is a locum position for an Optometry Physician to address a staffing shortage in a clinic setting. The role involves conducting routine eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and managing urgent eye care and emergencies. The position is for an immediate start, with an initial duration of 3 months, and potential for extension. The optometrist will serve patients aged 4 years and above, with frequent pupil dilation. While glaucoma management experience is preferred, surgical procedures are not included. Familiarity with specialty contacts is a plus. The role does not involve on-call duties. The optometrist will be supported by a dedicated administrative and clinical team and will use the EPIC electronic medical records system. The anticipated credentialing timeline is approximately 60 days.

Requirements

• Board certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Active California optometry license required.
• Experience with glaucoma management preferred.
• Familiarity with specialty contacts is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Must be able to serve patients aged 4 years and above.
• Must be comfortable with frequent pupil dilation.
