Locum Hepatology Physician
About The Position
InterHealth Medical Staffing, a staffing division of Tampa General Hospital, is seeking a locum hepatology physician to provide general hepatology inpatient coverage at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health. The role focuses exclusively on general hepatology and does not include pre- or post-liver transplant care. Physicians will care for hospitalized patients with liver disease in a high-volume academic setting supported by advanced practice providers, multidisciplinary teams, subspecialty consultants, and hospital infrastructure. The position is based within a large, multidisciplinary liver program with collaboration across hepatology, gastroenterology, surgery, and ancillary services, as well as access to advanced diagnostics, imaging, and procedural support. Teaching opportunities may be available depending on interest but are not required. Flexible locums scheduling options are offered.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited school of medicine.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
- Fellowship training in Hepatology or Gastroenterology with a hepatology-focused practice.
- Board certified or board eligible per Medical Staff requirements.
- Unrestricted or eligible Florida medical license.
Responsibilities
- Provide general hepatology inpatient coverage.
- Care for hospitalized patients with liver disease, including cirrhosis, portal hypertension, viral hepatitis, alcohol-related liver disease, and related conditions.
