About The Position

Spex Expressions, an independently owned optometry practice in DeKalb, Illinois, is hiring an Optometrist to join its growing team and provide exceptional, relationship-focused patient care. Founded in 1993, the practice has three doctors and 16 employees and plans to expand to four doctors at one location. Its mission is to provide personalized eye care with compassion, using current technology and patient education in a welcoming environment. The practice specializes in dry eye, scleral contact lenses, myopia management, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Its new 6,500-square-foot office is designed to support an expanding practice.

The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing ocular disease, prescribing corrective lenses, and using advanced technologies to deliver personalized care and build lasting patient relationships. The opportunity is flexible, part-time or full-time, with one to four eight-hour shifts per week. The Optometrist typically cares for 18 to 20 patients per day, with occasional Saturdays.

The practice seeks an outgoing, friendly Optometrist who enjoys meaningful patient interactions and relationship-building, is eager to learn, and is adaptable and enthusiastic about new technologies and evolving approaches to care. Experience in low vision or binocular vision disorders is welcome but not required. An Illinois optometry license is required.
