About The Position
We are seeking a part-time Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye exams to patients in nursing homes in the Rochester, NY area. This role involves traveling to one of 3-4 nursing homes per day, with travel times of 30 minutes to 1 hour within the geographical area. We provide the latest portable equipment and handle billing, with pre-filled paperwork to be completed by the optometrist. Technicians will be available at certain locations.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree.
- Ability to perform comprehensive eye exams.
- Accuracy in measurements and diagnosis of ocular conditions.
- Ability to explain eye health and prescription terminology.
- Product knowledge and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 30mins-1hr within the geographical area.
- Ability to complete pre-filled paperwork.

- Experience working in nursing homes.
- Familiarity with portable optometric equipment.
