About The Position

America’s Best, part of National Vision, is hiring an optometric technician to help maintain efficient patient flow and assist the optometrist with pre-screenings and testing before the doctor’s examination. The tests performed by the technician help the optometrist provide quality care. Optical experience and certification are not required; training is provided. The company’s locations are closed on Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance in the doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing before the doctor’s examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Carefully review prescriptions and patient information and identify special needs.
• Consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when necessary.
• Ensure the doctor’s and pretest equipment is properly maintained.
