About The Position

KLA is seeking high-energy interns for summer projects at its Ann Arbor, Michigan location. The role offers an opportunity to learn about industrial equipment used in the semiconductor industry and contribute to development of opto-mechanical sub-components for KLA inspection tools. The intern will work independently within a team of interns and engineers on a specific part of a larger project. The position involves designing, modeling, and documenting optical systems, collaborating with engineers in electrical engineering, optical engineering, and computer science, and using CAD and optical ray-tracing packages. Hands-on setup and alignment of opto-mechanical sub-assemblies in a laboratory environment are also required.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a graduate program in Optics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Have immigration authorization to undertake corporate internship projects.
Have taken classes in optics and have knowledge of opto-mechanical fundamentals.
Demonstrate strong analytical capabilities.
Have strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate perseverance and the ability to work collaboratively with a team across different geographies.
Requires less than 1 year of related experience.

Experience with Zemax and CREO.
