Opto-Mechanical Designer - Remote

KBRHouston, TX
$81,700 - $122,600Remote

About The Position

The Opto-Mechanical Designer will be responsible for the design and modeling of mechanical components to interface with optical elements such as lenses, mirrors, diffractive elements and filters. The candidate will design and model the mechanical means to mount and position these elements in an optical system. The designer will also need to be able to develop detailed drawings of these optical elements and overall optical system as well as fabrication and assembly drawings for the mechanical hardware and optical assemblies.

Requirements

  • T/SCI Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent with total 7+ years of related experience
  • Specific knowledge related to the mechanical design mounts and modeling of opto-mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in CAD software (Solid Works, NX)
  • Ability to provide innovative and practical mechanical solutions in support of optical system development.
  • Prior experience with NASA or other work related to space flight hardware

Nice To Haves

  • BS in a technical field
