About The Position
As an Optics Fabricator at MKS Instruments, you will partner with Production, Engineering, Planning, and others to produce precision optics. The role reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and involves processing optical materials, inspecting and testing parts, adjusting and maintaining equipment, and working collaboratively with a team.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of related experience.
- Basic computer skills and literacy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability and enthusiasm to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of high school, vocational training, or equivalent is preferred.
- Related experience sizing, grinding, or polishing optical materials using conventional and/or CNC methods.
Responsibilities
- Run multiple polishing and generating machines to process optical materials such as fused silica and CaF2.
- Read routers and engineering drawings to understand part specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Test optical parts using interferometers, calipers, micrometers, and other test equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment and make necessary adjustments to produce passing parts.
- Inspect surface quality to ensure parts are free of digs and scratches.
- Perform machine maintenance to keep equipment operating efficiently.
