Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in one of the following: An undergraduate degree program (Associate's or Bachelor's) with 2 years of work experience; or A Master’s degree program with 0 years of work experience.
  • Qualifying education should be in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Expected to continue enrollment in degree program following completion of the internship.
  • Previous experience with optical system principles, design verification, or signal estimation in an academic, project, or professional capacity.
  • Proficiency in Python programming, demonstrated by the use of libraries for data analysis or test automation.

Nice To Haves

  • Practical usage of lab environments and optical testing equipment such as oscilloscopes or power meters.
  • Foundational knowledge of coherent transceiver architectures or various modulation formats.
  • Familiarity with building software control loops or implementing signal processing concepts.
  • Experience using data analysis toolkits to visualize and report on performance monitoring results.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally on technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support design verification testing (DVT) of coherent transceivers.
  • Develop calibration and test procedures for consistent transceiver performance.
  • Create methods, scripts, and software for transmitter/receiver control loops.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to power levels and signal estimation.
