About The Position

The Optician drives profitable sales growth and attracts and retains guests by delivering exceptional guest service. The role helps create a positive, productive retail-selling environment that supports guest retention and satisfaction among the optical team and doctors. The Optician supports sales through effective retail-selling practices and provides optical services, including filling eyeglass prescriptions, fitting and adjusting eyewear, verifying visual acuity, measuring and selecting frames, and dispensing contact lenses and other quality products.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent.
ABO Certification.
At least 2 years of experience in retail optical.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
Ability to grow sales through sales skills.
Enthusiastic and concise communication.
Attention to detail.

Associate degree.

Responsibilities

Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail-selling culture and practicing and role-playing effective retail sales skills.
Develop professional business relationships with other team members.
Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames using the optical prescription.
Ensure high-quality, timely product manufacturing and fabrication.
Verify visual acuity.
Analyze and interpret prescriptions and lens designs.
Measure pupillary distances and bifocal, trifocal, and progressive placement.
Select and measure frames for facial contour, eye size, bridge size, and temple length.
Fit and adjust eyewear to the face and eyes.
Dispense contact lenses and quality products.
