About The Position

Warby Parker is seeking a skilled, enthusiastic Optician to join its in-house optical team. The role focuses on helping customers meet their eyewear needs and delivering knowledgeable, attentive service. The Optician explains prescriptions and product options, helps customers select suitable frames and lenses, and ensures eyewear is accurately fitted and meets optical standards and customer requests. The role also involves collaborating with teammates on customer service and sales practices and representing Warby Parker’s values and mission.

Requirements

• Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in states that do not require licensing.
• Passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
• Clear, effective, professional communication skills, including the ability to explain technical terms in an accessible way.
• Commitment to going above and beyond for customers and teammates.
• Energetic, positive team player able to adapt in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Extremely detail-oriented and capable of managing a wide range of responsibilities.
• Open-minded and committed to continuous learning.
• Not listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
• Help customers choose frames and lenses based on prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
• Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
• Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
