About The Position

The Optical Retail Sales Associate, also known as a Retail Optician, primarily assists patients in selecting eyeglass frames, lenses, and lens coatings that best suit their needs. The role supports customers throughout the eyewear process, from assessing their preferences and taking measurements to preparing lab work orders and inspecting finished products. It also includes sales, payment processing, insurance claims, patient records, and merchandise upkeep. Eyemart Express is an optical retailer with more than 245 stores in 42 states. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience working in retail, customer service, or sales.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in the optical industry is preferred but not required; training is available.

Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to patients.
Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions.
Compute and process payment transactions and refunds.
Process insurance claims efficiently.
Maintain up-to-date product knowledge.
Create and maintain patient files in accordance with company and HIPAA policies.
Assess and interpret patients’ needs and preferences.
Take necessary measurements.
Prepare work orders for the lab.
Pull the correct lenses according to work order specifications.
Inspect finished products for accuracy.
Adjust or repair damaged frames.
Price, stock, and straighten merchandise.
