Retail Pharmacy Technician - Twin Falls
About The Position
At St. Luke’s, Pharmacy Technicians provide patient-focused care in the Twin Falls Medical Center’s retail pharmacy services. These services include Retail, MicroPharmacy, Med Locker, Meds-to-Beds, and Hospice programs. Technicians may prepare and deliver medications, submit insurance claims, enter prescription data, coordinate medication syncing, and assist patients in person and over the phone. Depending on the service, technicians may prepare medications for community medication lockers, notify patients when prescriptions are ready, fill take-home medications for pharmacist bedside delivery before discharge, or coordinate prescription fills with behavioral health clinic providers, patients, and pharmacy systems. The position is based at Magic Valley Medical Center Pharmacy in Twin Falls, Idaho. It is full-time with variable 8-hour shifts and rotating Saturdays. The role offers opportunities to develop pharmacy skills and advance into leadership and pharmacy business positions. Certification assistance is available, and certification and preceptor pay are offered as described in the posting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Idaho pharmacy technician license.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver patients’ medications.
- Submit insurance claims and input prescription data.
- Coordinate medication syncing.
- Assist patients in person and over the phone.
- Prepare and deliver medications to medication lockers and communicate with patients when prescriptions are ready for pickup.
- Fill take-home medications for pharmacists to deliver to patients at bedside before discharge.
- Coordinate with behavioral health clinic providers, patients, and pharmacy systems to support prescription fills and community support.
