About The Position

The Eye Center of St. Augustine is a leading eye care center offering comprehensive services including an eye center, surgery center, and optical shop. With multiple locations, our board-certified doctors provide top-tier care. We are a fast-growing, patient-centered, compassionate team. The Clinic Lead is responsible for overseeing all daily operations at a designated practice location. This includes managing staffing, clinic flow, patient relations, inventory, and equipment maintenance. The role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and standards set by iJCAHPO and other regulatory bodies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five (2) years’ ophthalmology experience
  • Current iJCAHPO COA certification required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight or manager presence

Nice To Haves

  • leadership experience preferred
  • Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced understanding and ability to complete each skill as required based on iJCAHPO training and generally accepted understanding of each individual skill, including but not limited to: History Taking, Visual Acuity, Confrontation Visual Fields, Extraocular Motility Assessment, Pupil Assessment, Intraocular Pressure Measurement, Manual Lensometry, Angle Assessment, Manual Refractometry, Diagnostic testing (A-scan biometry, ultrasound, OCT, visual field, pachymetry, topography, dry eye testing, fundus photography), Supplemental testing (Amsler Grid, Color Vision, Stereopsis, Exophthalmometry, BAT, PAM), Minor Procedure Assisting, Scribing, and Pharmacology.
  • Aids with patient flow, diagnostic testing, and technician exam components as needed.
  • Aids in and support timely completion of all clinical administrative duties and assignments including Rx refill, patient messages/tasks, and documentation audits.
  • Maintains communication with clinical training team regarding any technicians in a training process.
  • Complies with all practice procedures and protocols, and all State and Federal regulations.
  • Able to determine if documentation supports E/M vs/ Eye Code, match applicable ICD-10 codes, and appropriately code in-office procedures based on documentation.
  • Able to educate patients regarding all conditions treated and surgical procedures performed by the doctor.
  • Maintains inventory PAR levels and order necessary medical and office supplies via D365 ordering process.
  • Completes monthly inventory counts and report to corporate office any procurement concerns or issues.
  • Leads daily team huddles and regularly scheduled monthly team meetings.
  • Creates the daily and weekly staff scheduling process by completing daily staff assignments and coordination as needed due to last minute changes to schedules.
  • Collaborates with doctors on development and creation of their schedule templates. Communicating changes to the clinical and contact center teams as needed.
  • Responds to all patient relations inquiries and submits complaint resolutions.
  • Develops and train on clinical standard operating procedures and new policies.
  • Understands and accept responsibility to report potential or suspected errors to supervisor or Compliance Officer.
  • Contributes to the team effort by completing additional tasks or projects as needed.
  • Maintains positive attitude consisting of cooperation, self-motivation, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Serves as a coach and mentor to team members, fostering and environment of continuous learning and professional growth.
