OPS WGCU Audio Video Technician
About The Position
The Audio Video Tech at WGCU will be primarily responsible for all audio aspects of studio productions, including operating the audio board, ensuring broadcast quality, and troubleshooting issues promptly. This role involves setting up studio audio, including microphones for guests, and collaborating with video editors to optimize audio levels and creative sound uses for video productions. The technician is also designated as essential personnel, required to assist with broadcasts during emergency situations. Requirements
- 4 years of professional related experience or an associate’s degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
- Skilled at operating an audio board for studio and/or live productions.
- Skilled in current digital audio editing and Adobe software applications.
- Ability to assist in live, multi-camera studio productions.
- Ability to diffuse and respond professionally to stressful and difficult situations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with audio editing and mastering.
- Broadcast audio and video experience.
Responsibilities

- Ensure audio is up to broadcast quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues with a sense of urgency.
- Oversee studio audio set-ups including microphones on guests.
- Assist video editors with audio levels, best practices and creative uses of audio to enhance video productions.
- Serve as essential personnel to assist with broadcasts in emergency situations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
