About The Position

Delnor Wiggins Pass State Park is looking for a self-motivated park service professional to fill an OPS Park Ranger position, providing visitor services, maintenance, protection, administration, and resource management. The applicant must possess good visitor service, maintenance and administrative skills. This position is 16 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s license.
• Good public relations knowledge.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally, tactfully, and courteously with internal and external customers and the general public.
• Ability to perform grounds and building maintenance including mowing, weed eating, pressure washing, and painting.
• Proficiency in utilizing power tools, including chain saws and drills.
• Proficiency in using a computer and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions/directions.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to speak in public.
• Ability to understand and apply rules, directives, policies, laws, and regulations.
• Ability to clean park facilities, including restrooms and picking up trash.
• Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
• Successfully complete background and fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory.
• Focus on early field duties.
