About The Position

This position is located within the Onsite Sewage Program, a vital component of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's efforts to manage and protect the state's water resources. This position will serve on the Onsite Sewage Program Intake Team. Performs initial intake for permit applications and processes payment. Receives and directs phone calls from public to appropriate staff. Provides assistance to supervisor and staff that includes scanning of documents, archiving of records, file disposition and data entry. Creates, organizes and maintains electronic files. Performs quality assurance and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy of records and data files. Assists staff and the public in researching and retrieving files and data. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Knowledge of entering and editing data into a computer system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to organize files and other documents.
  • Ability to work independently on assignments.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • At least one year of verifiable related experience in administrative assistance or customer service.
  • Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
