About The Position

The OPS Groundskeeper position in the Housing & Residence Life department is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of housing areas, courtyards, and surrounding grounds. This role involves regular duties such as emptying trash, cleaning dumpster areas, and removing debris from various outdoor locations. Additionally, the position may involve grounds and equipment maintenance, including cleaning grills, using equipment like leaf blowers and vacuums, and assisting with campus maintenance tasks. Special projects and event work may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • This position requires a background check.
  • In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check.
  • The holder of this position is designated as a “Responsible Employee" pursuant to their role under Title IX. Therefore, the incumbent must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Empty trash containers located in Housing areas.
  • Maintain the courtyards by removing any trash or debris.
  • Continually keep the dumpster/recycling area clean and maintained.
  • Remove any trash or debris from the courtyards, stairwells, or sidewalks in and around Housing Areas.
  • Clean the outdoor cooking grills in and around the Housing Areas.
  • Use the “leaf blower” to clean debris from the A/C units in Osprey Village.
  • Use the gas-powered vacuum to maintain the courtyards and parking lots.
  • Raking leaves.
  • Special projects/event work.
  • Work orders.
  • Assists with campus maintenance.
