About The Position

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks (DRP) are seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and well-organized individual to join Florida’s award-winning state parks system. This position will be scheduled for up to 40 hours per week. Duties may include but are not limited to: submitting travel authorizations and reimbursements; managing MFMP NextGen/Ariba on Demand for the office including entering requisitions and receiving invoices on purchase orders; ordering items with a PCard; serving as the Division’s property contact; submitting monthly vehicle logs and gas receipts; coordinating service for the Director’s Office vehicle; submitting monthly cell phone records; sorting and sending mail; managing mailing and other lists; maintaining office supplies; and performing special assignments, research, report preparation, and related work as required.

Requirements

  • Valid driver license
  • Knowledge of office principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication
  • Knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability to compile, organize and analyze data
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques
  • Ability to prepare reports and records
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to organize and maintain records and files
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver license

Nice To Haves

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Experience in coordinating and processing travel
  • Experience working in the Florida Statewide Travel Management System (STMS)
  • Experience with My Florida Market Place (MFMP) system
  • Government purchasing experience
