About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing the Gator Gears bicycle fleet, responding to repair requests across campus, and providing mobile repair services. The role also involves assisting with equipment and parts inventory, supporting bicycle check-outs and returns, and aiding with other TAPS bicycle programs. The work environment is an outdoor or semi-outdoor shop without air conditioning, though fans are provided. The position requires a regular daytime work schedule, with flexibility for exact hours to be determined. Attendance is expected to be consistent throughout the year, including summer semesters and critical periods at the beginning and end of fall and spring semesters. Leave requests must be communicated and approved in advance.

Requirements

  • Completion of ninth grade.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical labor by repairing, lifting, and moving bicycles in an outdoor and/or semi-outdoor environment.
  • Maintain and repair the Gator Gears bicycle fleet as needed.
  • Respond to repair requests across campus and travel by bike or foot to provide mobile repair service.
  • Assist with keeping track of program equipment and parts inventory to aid in planning parts orders and fleet schedules.
  • Provide support for Gator Gears check-outs and return periods.
  • Provide support for other TAPS bicycle programs as needed, such as monthly abandoned bicycle sweeps and surplus bicycle storage.
  • Perform miscellaneous other duties as needed or assigned by BPC or TAPS administration.
