About The Position

Grand Canyon University (GCU) partners with nonprofit organizations that improve the quality of life for community residents. This position is in partnership with Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K), whose mission is to provide bikes to children in need to help them live happier, healthier lives. The CSLP student worker's schedule depends on the organization's hours and needs, with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the academic year. Eligibility for summer work is available. This role is classified as Community Service, providing services to non-GCU community members. Applicants must complete the FAFSA to be reviewed for Federal Work-Study (FWS) eligibility.

Requirements

  • Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.
  • Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Enrolled at GCU in a bachelor’s program or master’s program full-time during fall/spring or half-time during summer.
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to speak a second language a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Refurbish and maintain used bicycles (e.g., change tires, chains, etc.).
  • Power wash and detail bicycles for final inspection before being donated.
  • Assist with warehouse organization and inventory management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
