About The Position

This is a full-time Other Personal Services (OPS) position within the Division of Agricultural Environmental Services, specifically serving the Pest Control Licensing Section of the Bureau of Licensing and Enforcement. The role involves administrative and clerical duties, including receptionist tasks, mail handling, correspondence, data entry, and record maintenance.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent and five (5) years of administrative or clerical experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which equals five (5) years.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of administrative experience.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required experience.
  • All fields in the Candidate Profile must be completed.
  • Work history, duties and responsibilities, hours worked, supervisor, and formal education fields must be filled out.
  • Responses to Qualifying Questions must be verifiable in the Candidate Profile.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
  • Ability to use a personal computer.
  • Successful applicants must pass a background screening, including fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as receptionist for the Pest Control Licensing Section, directing telephone calls and assisting visitors.
  • Handle all incoming mail for the Pest Control Licensing Section, including opening, reviewing, logging, and distributing mail and monies.
  • Handle correspondence for the section, including typing correspondence, folders, labels, licenses, and spreadsheets.
  • Scan and index incoming paperwork.
  • Maintain alphabetical files for records.
  • Update, transmit, retrieve, and change information in applicable databases.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
