Our team thrives in diverse environmentsfrom traditional clinical settings to austere and expeditionary conditionsguided by our core values: Adaptability Accountability Integrity Compassion Collaboration What Youll Do Clinical & Surgical Care Provide comprehensive ophthalmology services in both clinic and surgical settings Diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular conditions, with an emphasis on glaucoma Perform surgical procedures as privileged Conduct outpatient evaluations and bedside consults for non-ambulatory patients Develop and implement individualized treatment plans Educate patients and ensure continuity of care Procedural Scope Includes Youll have the opportunity to perform a broad range of procedures, including: Cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation Glaucoma surgeries (MIGS, trabeculectomy, tube shunts) Vitreoretinal procedures (e.g., vitrectomy, laser treatments) Corneal procedures (including transplants and keratoplasty) Oculoplastic and minor procedures (e.g., lesion excision, blepharoplasty, injections) On-Call Responsibilities Participate in a rotating call schedule (minimum 1 week/month) Be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes if needed Provide coverage for colleagues as required Administrative (Approx. 5%) Participate in quality improvement initiatives Attend staff and committee meetings Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the VA EHR What You Bring Required Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited institution Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency Board Certified or Board Eligible (American Board of Ophthalmology) Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license Current BLS & ACLS certifications DEA registration and NPI number Preferred Fellowship or advanced training in glaucoma Key Skills Strong clinical judgment and surgical proficiency Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and thrive in a team environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to stand or sit for extended periods Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment Inclusion & Cultural Competency Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities. Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
