About The Position

LIND Eyecare & Optical is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to join their team in Kearney, NE. This role involves preparing patients for eye examinations, performing preliminary tests, assisting doctors with procedures, coordinating patient flow, and maintaining the exam room environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, grasp, lift, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist.
  • Ability to lift 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder.
  • Ability to lift 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
  • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
  • Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
  • Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
  • Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
  • Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
  • Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
