About The Position
LIND Eyecare & Optical in Kearney, NE is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician. This role involves preparing patients for eye examinations, performing preliminary and doctor-requested tests, assisting with patient procedures, coordinating patient flow, and maintaining the exam room and office environment.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in an ophthalmic technician role.
- Willingness to obtain company-paid certifications for growth and wage increases.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
- Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
- Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
- Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
- Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
- Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
- Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).
