About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician for a 13-week contract assignment in a fast-paced outpatient clinical setting. The ideal candidate will support ophthalmologists by performing preliminary eye examinations, diagnostic testing, patient preparation, and clinical assistance while delivering exceptional patient care.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician credential required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic testing independently
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary ophthalmic screening examinations for physician evaluation
• Conduct visual field testing, including central and peripheral vision assessments
• Perform ocular motility, color vision, and pupil function testing
• Measure intraocular pressure using tonometry and related methods
• Obtain and document patient medical and ocular history accurately
• Assist with ophthalmic photography, diagnostic procedures, and outpatient testing
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and minor surgical interventions
• Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
• Educate patients on procedures and address questions or concerns professionally
• Clean, calibrate, and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
• Prepare and sterilize instruments for minor procedures and laser treatments
• Assist physicians during office-based examinations and procedures
• Ensure exam rooms and procedure areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked
