About The Position

FinTrust Connect has partnered with a growing regional banking institution to identify a Commercial Real Estate Underwriter for a New York-based opportunity. This role will support a high-volume CRE lending platform focused on complex real estate transactions throughout the Northeast market. This is a hybrid role based in New York, NY. The function of this role is to manage underwriting and portfolio analysis responsibilities supporting multifamily, construction, and institutional CRE lending.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of CRE underwriting or portfolio management experience
• Strong experience underwriting multifamily and construction loans
• Ability to manage complex credit structures and large loan relationships
• Experience preparing detailed credit presentations and transaction analyses
• Strong understanding of cash flow analysis, guarantor review, and CRE structuring
• Excellent written and analytical skills required

Nice To Haves

• Experience within regional or larger banking institutions preferred

Responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial real estate transactions including multifamily and construction loans
• Conduct annual reviews and portfolio monitoring activities
• Analyze sponsor financials, property cash flow, rent rolls, and guarantor support
• Prepare detailed credit memorandums and approval packages
• Support high-volume underwriting environment with strict turnaround expectations
• Collaborate with relationship managers, portfolio managers, and credit leadership
• Review market-rate multifamily, retail, hospitality, and office assets
• Assist with portfolio risk management and ongoing loan administration support
