About The Position

Refocus is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join its established, multi-specialty ophthalmology group. The role works closely with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to provide patient care, perform ophthalmic examinations and diagnostic testing, assist with procedures, and support efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate is comfortable multitasking and assisting with front-desk responsibilities as needed. The position is listed as up to 32 hours per week.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient information in collaboration with ophthalmologists to support accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Conduct preliminary examinations, including visual acuity and pupillary response testing.
• Administer diagnostic tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Manage patient flow in the clinic and imaging rooms in collaboration with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops; certification is required.
• Perform clinical and administrative tasks to support an organized and efficient clinic workflow.
• Assist with front-desk and clerical responsibilities as needed.
• Perform indirect activities and other assigned duties that contribute to the efficient, high-quality operation of the medical practice.
