This role involves the provision of integrated and accessible primary and specialty patient care services in a clinic or center environment. Care is provided by clinicians and assistants who are accountable for addressing a large majority of personal health care needs and developing a sustainable partnership with patients. The Ophthalmic Technician Supervisor ensures optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and provision of patient care delivery in healthcare clinics or centers. This role promotes shared decision-making at all levels to ensure a shared voice in practices, exchange of ideas, enhanced communication, and continually improved patient services. The technician supervisor is responsible for daily clinic operations including supervision and assessment of technical duties and ensures compliance with all hospital policies and regulatory requirements. The Technician Supervisor monitors the quality of patient screening and workups, documentation, and communication with providers ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in assigned clinic(s) and serves as a role model. This position is responsible for technician hiring, orientation and training as well as scheduling, training, and implementation of new technologies within the full scope of clinical functions. Assists with the administration and management of personnel, fiscal, and material resources. This includes but is not limited to monitoring the facilities for patient and staff safety and initiating environmental or system improvements as needed. This role also supervises the maintenance of equipment, and monitoring and purchasing of supply chain. The Technician Supervisor consistently projects a professional and courteous demeanor and is required to comply with the Medical Center House and Telephone Standards.
