Requirements
- High school education or GED.
- Two years experience as an ophthalmic assistant.
- Must have technical and diagnostic skills to perform a comprehensive ophthalmic assessment along with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have effective keyboarding skills.
- Current, active COA, COT, COMT, CRA or OCT-c certification is required upon hire, be current for 90 days following start date, and maintained for duration of employment.
Responsibilities
- Performs a comprehensive ophthalmic assessment on ocular patients.
- Performs diagnostic tests as indicated or as requested by the ophthalmologist.
- Functions autonomously as part of an integrated team of ophthalmic support services.
- Performs patient education in regard to treatment of ocular conditions as well as preventative care.
