About The Position

As an Ophthalmic Tech- Cert, you will play a vital role in assisting ophthalmologists in the clinic setting. Your expertise in performing specialized tests, measuring refractive errors, and supporting patient care will directly contribute to the delivery of high-quality eye care. This role is essential in ensuring accurate diagnoses and enhancing patient outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists in the clinic setting by performing specialized tests such as A-scan ophthalmic ultrasound and fundus photography.
• Accurately measure refractive errors and perform tests of ocular motility.
• Fit and verify contact lenses for patients.
• Take patient histories and communicate effectively during test procedures.
• Mentor and coach other employees to enhance their competencies and job performance.
• Manage patient information with attention to detail and precision.
