COA - Ophthalmic Assistant (40 Hours Weekly) - Eye Clinic
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking a certified or non-certified ophthalmic assistant to serve in the ophthalmology practice at our South University Clinic in Fargo, North Dakota. This OA or COA works 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations are required. This position is ideal for candidates who have experience in ophthalmology or optometry, or who have worked as a clinic care tech, PCT, nursing assistant, or in a similar role. The ophthalmology practice combines cutting-edge clinical technology with compassionate, patient-centered care. Requirements
- AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Non-certified: JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant required within 1 year of hire or transfer.
- Certified: JCAHPO certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant required upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in ophthalmology or optometry
- Experience as a clinic care tech, PCT, nursing assistant, or in a similar role
Responsibilities
- Provides quality care to patients of all ages as defined in the ambulatory care nursing philosophy of Essentia Health.
- Performs tests and procedures and assists ophthalmologists or optometrists in providing quality eye care.
