This position blends your technical engineering skills with your analytical acumen to solve complex operations problems that drive capacity improvement, space and line optimization, cost reductions, operational efficiencies, all to provide a competitive advantage to the site and Medtronic. Take your career to the next level while supporting our mission to “alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.” A Day in the Life In this role, you will be focused on accelerating performance at our Brooklyn Center Site, through the deployment of the Medtronic Performance System (MPS). This will be accomplished through coaching and training teams, and employees on the tools and elements that make up MPS. You will deploy and sustain continuous improvement programs around Zero Loss, Strategy Excellence, Innovation Excellence, Value Stream Excellence, Maintenance Excellence, and Improvement Excellence with A3/DMAIC thinking and Lean Sigma toolsets, to support our growth. We're working a minimum of 5 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.

Requirements

  • Requires high school diploma, or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification or training
  • Proficiency in process mapping/value stream mapping
  • Prior Continuous Improvement experience
  • Communication & collaboration skills
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and sustain process improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Guide and mentor the use of Medtronic Performance System tools and methodologies
  • Deploy and sustain daily management systems (tier boards)
  • Provide training and support to employees on continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Introduce and educate employees on the 5S methodology, while conducting regular audits to ensure adherence to 5S standards and pinpoint opportunities for improvement
  • Create and maintain value stream maps to identify waste and opportunities for process improvements
  • Participate in, support, and lead kaizen events to drive rapid improvements in processes and operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement lean tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis (5-why) and standard work
  • Establish and maintain performance metrics to measure program success.
