The heavy equipment operator uses industrial equipment to move materials and support construction projects. The role includes preparing and operating equipment, coordinating with coworkers to complete work accurately, monitoring workflow, and performing all duties safely and diligently. The operator is expected to recognize when to lead or follow and to suggest changes that can improve productivity. This is a physically demanding position on an active construction site. Work regularly takes place outdoors and may involve exposure to weather, moving machinery, noise, dust, fumes, airborne particles, vibration, and potential electrical hazards. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment and follow Clark Construction safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws. The position requires flexibility to work extended hours, particularly during critical project phases or client deadlines. A pre-employment drug fitness-for-duty screening and random quarterly fitness-for-duty tests are required.
