About The Position

This role involves understanding and complying with all Sika safety, site security, and environmental policies. The Operator will achieve established housekeeping objectives, ensuring work areas are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion. They will execute production processes according to established quality guidelines, reporting process variations in a timely fashion, and ensuring daily production schedules and optimum rates-of-output are met. The Operator is responsible for the proper set-up of materials and ensuring equipment is in good operating condition before executing batch making processes, and will assist with set-up for incoming shifts. Accurate and timely completion of SAP order confirmations, and documentation of process times and quality test results are also key responsibilities. Production activities include batch making, packaging of finished goods, product set-ups and change-overs, and other production activities as directed by the Production Supervisor/Manager. The Operator will operate and maintain equipment according to best practices, assist in preventive maintenance activities, and troubleshoot as needed. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential, as is the ability to guide, assist, and train new and temporary employees. The role also includes leading, participating in, or supporting continuous improvement activities and executing other projects as directed by Management.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
1 - 2 years of experience in an industrial environment
Forklift operator experience is required
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must have good math skills, including the ability to work with fractions, decimals and percentages.
Must have the ability to develop process expertise in order to facilitate troubleshooting.
Must be able to maintain an excellent attendance record.
Must be flexible to work any shift and overtime as business requires.
Must be self-motivated and able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Must be able to operate a forklift and other equipment as trained
Must be able to travel, by air if necessary, within the United States to complete initial training.

Responsibilities

Understand and comply with all Sika safety, site security and environmental policies.
Achieve established housekeeping objectives adhering to established best practices and ensuring work areas are maintained and left in a clean and orderly fashion.
Execute production processes according to established quality guidelines while reporting process variations in a timely fashion.
Understand and attain the daily production schedule.
Ensure that production processes achieve optimum rate-of-output.
Ensure proper set-up of materials and good operating condition of the equipment prior to executing batch making processes and to assist as directed with the set-up for incoming shifts.
Complete SAP order confirmations in an accurate and timely manner.
Document process times and quality test results.
Execute production activities including batch making, packaging of finished goods, product set-ups and change-overs and other production activities as directed by the Production Supervisor / Manager.
Operate and maintain equipment according to best practices and assist in preventive maintenance activities and troubleshooting as needed.
Work with a positive attitude and as a team towards a common goal.
Guide, assist and train new and temporary employees.
Lead, participate or support continuous improvement activities as directed by Management.
Execute other projects or activities to-be-determined as directed by Management.
