The Operator is responsible for the operation of the computer controlled process equipment, cooker, machinery, and evaluation of any process problems in addition to performing product quality testing. The schedule for this position is 3pm-12am. The Operator oversees the rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage. This role involves maintaining a steady flow of material to the cooker, ensuring peak operating levels for cooker temperature, rate, and steam, and monitoring evaporation rate to meet hourly requirements. The Operator also controls the flow of material to presses and finished goods storage, monitors control panels and gauges, operates the pollution control system (air/odor control and wastewater control), and is responsible for boiler start-up and operation. Additionally, the Operator performs periodic preventative maintenance on all equipment, monitors machinery, reports problems to management, ensures equipment and work areas are clean after each shift, and maintains safety as a top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
