Operator
About The Position
The Operator works in a traditional warehousing environment, picking parts to fulfill customer orders and placing them in designated work areas. The role involves reviewing order and shipping documents, locating and moving inventory according to specified sequences, filling stock requests, and scanning and moving materials according to standard work instructions where applicable. The schedule may fluctuate according to business needs, and the Operator must be able to work the required schedule to meet site production goals and key performance indicators. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Self-motivated.
- Able to work with a diverse group of people and be a team player.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations.
Responsibilities
- Pick parts according to customer orders and place them in work areas.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and other documents to determine which items must be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.
- Move items from bulk containers, racks, shelves, or bins according to a predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and other stock items, and place items in designated areas.
- Scan materials and move them according to standard work instructions where applicable.
- Work the required schedule, which may fluctuate according to business needs, to meet site production goals and key performance indicators.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
