About The Position

Palmer Candy is looking for a 1st shift Operator at our Bluff St Facility. This role operates a production line and oversees the production and packaging of confectionary products. The Operator ensures Team Members produce and package high-quality products safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and specifications. This includes packaging products, performing routine quality, weight, percentage, and equipment checks, and maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment. The role also involves preparing supplies, products, and equipment for production, performing basic equipment cleaning and minor maintenance, and maintaining accurate inventory counts and production records. The Operator will utilize REDZONE production software, support established OEE standards, and communicate effectively with Team Members across all departments. Professional conduct, reliable attendance, and overtime as needed are expected.

Requirements

  • Ability to verbally communicate proficiently in English to effectively engage with internal teams.
  • Applicant must be proficient in reading and understanding English-language manuals, equipment, instructions, and other documents relevant to the role.
  • Prior experience operating machines in a manufacturing setting
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction and simple multiplication and division)
  • Ability to lift and move 20–30 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Comfortable standing and working for extended periods in a production environment.
  • Frequent hand and repetitive motion required to handle, inspect, and package products.
  • Works efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Flexibility to cross-train and operate on multiple production lines as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Team Members produce and package high-quality products safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Package products and perform routine quality, weight, percentage, and equipment checks to ensure product accuracy and safety.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment, including proper allergen and product changeover procedures.
  • Prepare supplies, products, and equipment for production while ensuring equipment meets health and safety requirements.
  • Perform basic equipment cleaning, minor maintenance, and routine inspections of metal detectors and other production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts, lot numbers, date codes, and production records.
  • Assist with production line operations and train Team Members as needed.
  • Utilize REDZONE production software and support established OEE standards.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with Team Members across all departments and levels.
  • Maintain professional conduct, regular and reliable attendance, and work overtime as needed to support production demands.
