About The Position

Performs activities related to the operation and maintenance of refined petroleum product pipelines and facilities. This position will be 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends or Monday-Friday dayshift dependent upon seniority-based shift bidding process. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, and the union bidding process applies. Union posting guidelines outlined in the current collective bargaining agreement will be applied prior to considering external candidates.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree Petroleum Tech or related field or three years experience in a related field

  • Ability to: communicate effectively orally and in writing in English with co-workers, supervisors, internal and external customers
  • Ability to: work in stressful conditions
  • Ability to: adapt and respond in changing circumstances
  • Ability to: use a personal computer with the Windows(R) operating system to complete time sheets, send and receive email, and access information posted on the Company's intranet
  • Ability to: to work on both a scheduled and call-out basis, as needed
  • Ability to: work at the assigned job site.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the pipeline and its supporting operational and monitoring equipment in compliance with regulations, company work practices, and safety standards.
  • Ensure the reliability of equipment, and accurate measurement and quality of product transported through the system.
  • Develop a positive working relationship with carriers.
  • Monitor all product movements in to and out of the terminal and/or station via main line, loading racks, or unloading skids, including: mainline operations, transferring product to storage vessels; making valve lineups, operating refined product pumps; performing product sampling, running samples for analysis on in house lab equipment; measurement of location physical stock, meters, and additive variances.
  • Input information into computer programs and perform daily facility inspections.
  • Assist drivers and customers, perform truck rack operations duties.
  • Assist technicians with maintenance duties and perform general maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor.
  • Participate on the facility emergency response team.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including OQ requirements and implement them into location work practices.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety training meetings.
  • Perform any other tasks that may be assigned.
  • Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
  • Be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
