USW Material Control Specialist ($32.88/hr + $1.25 Shift Differential)
About The Position
BAE Systems is seeking a Material Control Specialist (MCS) to join its organization on 2nd Shift - 2:30pm - 11:00am. This role handles all aspects of material handling functions including receiving, transporting, storing, and ensuring accurate inventory in the warehouse and other store locations within the plant. The specialist will open containers using hand tools, count, weigh, and sample materials, and utilize computer systems for tracking and logging information. Responsibilities also include loading and unloading materials by hand or with equipment, operating equipment such as forklifts, pickers, and pallet jacks, and adhering to all departmental material handling practices, procedures, and customer requirements while prioritizing safety.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years relevant work experience
- Proficient forklift operator
- Experience in warehousing or manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Basic math skills
- Willing to work in a team environment
- Ability to physically lift objects up to 40 lbs. independently
- Availability to work overtime as needed
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Oracle based MRP system
- Ability to use Zebra handheld scan gun equipment
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of material handling functions including but not limited to receiving, transporting, storing, and ensuring accurate inventory in the warehouse and other store locations within the plant
- Open containers using hand tools
- Counts, weighs, and samples materials
- Utilize computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying and recording information
- Handle the loads and unloads of materials onto or from pallets, trays, multi-level racks, and machines by hand
- Loads or unloads materials into or from trucks by hand or with equipment
- Operate equipment inclusive of forklifts (electric or diesel powered), pickers, and pallet jacks (electric or manual)
- Follow all departmental material handling practices and procedures along with customer requirements while putting safety as a top priority
