About The Position

This role involves operating truck-mounted concrete boom pumps and related equipment to transport and place concrete according to project plans. The position requires a strong understanding of safety regulations, concrete properties, and equipment maintenance. The operator will be responsible for ensuring the safety of crews, evaluating site conditions, and performing necessary maintenance on the equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL driver license.
  • Current DOT physical.
  • Comply with use of company specified personal protective equipment.
  • Attend safety meetings as required.
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, bend, stoop, and kneel.
  • Ability to work in a variety of positions, including at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • 48 months experience in the applicable discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • NCCCO Certified Concrete Pump Operator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety regulations, including inspections, related to the operations of concrete pumps (DOT, OSHA, ACPA).
  • Ensure the safety of crews and other project employees while operating truck or line pumps.
  • Ensure vehicle is in compliance with DOT standards.
  • Operate truck-mounted concrete boom pumps and related equipment/tools, including line pumps.
  • Evaluate site conditions and set up concrete pump trucks appropriately (rigging up, setting outriggers, extending and operating boom).
  • Connect hose and pipelines to the pump to transport concrete to the placement area.
  • Oversee the placement of concrete according to project plans.
  • Load, unload, clean, and maintain concrete pumps and attachments safely and efficiently.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of concrete pumps.
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on concrete pumps and equipment.
  • Pump concrete with precision and accuracy, observing the pour to ensure delivery to the desired location.
  • Understand the basics of concrete placement and properties, including the effects of hot and cold conditions and mixing specifications.
  • Operate the controls of a concrete mixer.
  • Clean the drum at the end of each job.
  • Make adjustments as necessary to keep the concrete pump in good operating condition.
  • Read and understand construction plans and blueprints.
