About The Position

The Remote Scoop Operator is responsible for the collection and loading of ore and waste on surface and underground at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy. The position will be on an 7/7 (12 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $90,535 to $122,489 CAD.

Requirements

  • Secondary SChool Graduation Diploma
  • Successfully completed all relevant Common Core training modules to be a Remote Scoop Operator and underground Scoop Operator
  • Able to competently perform all skills progressively acquired to the role of Remote Scoop Operator
  • Ability to read and understand mining prints and shoot lines
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to work in a surface and underground environment
  • Competent communication abilities
  • Sound knowledge of underground mining procedures
  • Willing to work on a rotational shiftwork basis
  • Hard working and conscientious
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and interact with others
  • Willing and able to follow instructions
  • Self motivated
  • Willing to share knowledge and experienced with others
  • Able to work effectively alone and in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties of Remote Scoop Operator on surface for all mining complexes at RLO and perform other duties underground as assigned by your supervisor within your qualifications
  • Specific duties may include: conducting pre-start inspection of scoop and work environment; inspecting work area & identifying hazards; scaling and washing down work areas; mucking of production and development areas; operating manual and remote scoops; maintain roadways, conduct heading clean ups, assist with installation of services including ventilation,  record data, perform towing and recovery, and monitoring the control panel of the scoop to identify and correct malfunctions and service requirements
  • Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate and obtain required Ontario Common Core Modules
  • Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner and comply with all safety procedures
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards
  • Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
