About The Position

The Operator Scoop is responsible for successfully completing all required training, and acquiring and demonstrating your capability to competently perform all required tasks in a safe manner in order to advance to Miner 3 at Red Lake Operation. This role is to recruit for an existing vacancy. The position will be on a 14 days on and 14 days off roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.

Requirements

5 years of directly related experience, or several years’ experience working and progressing through various levels of underground mining
Ability to demonstrate competence to perform all skills acquired as Miner 5, with aptitude to progress to next level
Must demonstrate competence in installation of ground support
Flexible, and willing to work on a rotational shiftwork basis
Hard working and conscientious
Punctual and dependable, with good attendance and safety record
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and interact with others
Willing and able to follow instructions
Good motivator and coach, and capable of developing others
Ability to inspire, motivate and manage performance of others
Capable of change and innovation
Capable of visualizing what lies ahead
Possesses a strong work ethic

Responsibilities

Perform duties with skills acquired as Miner 5 and 6.
Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate and obtain required licensing (e.g. scooptram, scissor lift, and various mining equipment).
Install ground support (job task observation required).
Perform tasks as directed under the direction of supervisor.
Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner.
Comply with all safety procedures.
Wear all required personal protective equipment.
Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards.
Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
