About The Position

Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting for an Underground Miner (Remote Scoop Operator) to join their operations team. Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a strong track record of creating value through financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. The company operates three mines (two in Canada, one in Mexico) and has a strong portfolio of development projects. Young-Davidson, one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines, is a low-cost, long-life operation located near Matachewan, Ontario. A 2020 expansion has increased production and free cash flow, making it a foundation for Alamos’s growth. The company is seeking highly motivated and committed individuals dedicated to growth, high performance, and a culture of safety and accountability. The successful candidate will report to the Mine Operations Supervisor (Production) and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of remote scoop equipment.

Requirements

3-5 years’ underground experience
Accreditation in U/G common core modules and specialty modules
Strong Safety focus
Self-motivated ability to work alone
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently
Able to read mine plans/drawings

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating remote scoop

Responsibilities

Safely operating LHD equipment
Mucking underground ore/waste material
Loading haulage trucks
Meet the daily productive goals required for the job
Perform preoperational inspections on equipment and operate in an efficient and safe manner
All other duties, as assigned
