About The Position

The inside receiving operator operates and adjusts all inside receiving equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors product sizing, lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs, and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader. This role is a trainee position with hands-on training provided for growth and success. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
  • Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English.
  • Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one-on-one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of plant operations and experience working around equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.
  • Responsible for proper handling of raw product throughout the receiving area.
  • Inventories volumes of raw product.
  • Operates equipment and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Maintains even lineflow.
  • Monitors and maintains product quality and attributes.
  • Communicates with other personnel: line status, quality, and other problems.
  • Must understand function and hazards of various cleaning chemicals, and must be able to perform various product testing procedures.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Shoveling product spills.
  • Completes production forms as required.
  • Enters information into the computer and utilizes process control equipment to control product flow.
  • Monitor in-line magnets.
  • Maintains water quality by cleaning strainers.
  • Sanitation of area.
  • Breaking of other areas.
  • Performs weekend cleanup as assigned.
