About The Position

Position Objective: Ensure quality products are produced by performing inspections, monitoring processes, and supporting production to meet customer expectations of zero defects. Essential Functions: Perform in-process and final inspections using standard gauging equipment (micrometers, calipers, indicators, rings, and plugs). Measure and inspect parts in accordance with Operator Inspection Instructions and blueprint requirements. Monitor and verify SPC data is accurately collected, recorded, and maintained. Identify nonconforming or suspect products and initiate proper containment procedures. Maintain accurate and organized quality documentation, including WIP travelers and labeling verification. Prepare for upcoming jobs by gathering required paperwork, SPC data, and gages. Support production operations as needed, including coolant monitoring, coil changes, and scrap tracking/reporting(end of shift). Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and housekeeping expectations by maintaining a clean and organized work area. Participate in team activities and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with shop floor gauging.
  • Some knowledge/understanding of blueprint reading.
  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk from press to press on the occasions where presses are not located next to each other.
  • Ability to operate multiple presses at the same time when the job rating is within an acceptable level.
